Helentaurus, that was what amazed me most about the film. That guy was working really hard to actually get things off the ground. I'm sure Dr. Eleni put in a lot of work too, especially before the ECX got off the ground. But in this film, that guy's efforts really impressed me.

The whole ECX team did a great job on this initiative! I was particularly impressed with the way and how soon they managed to secure the trust of the farmers, given the historic skepticism they have had with middlemen.

For those of you who missed the premiere tonight, you can watch it at the screening on Friday 7/24/09 at the Sheraton in Washington DC.

Dr. Eleni will be there along with the filmmakers to hold a discussion after the screening is over. Seats are limited so please RSVP to hanna.tadesse@gmail.com

Thanks,
Hanna

The documentary was excellent!!! Her determination - as well as the determination of her team - was particularly impressive. Hopefully, the exchange will continue to bring greater transparency to Ethiopia's commodity markets - and increase confidence in the markets for farmers/brokers/etc.

Does anyone know how the ECX got its funding?

She should be inspiration for the rest of us to get involved. It just goes to show that nothing is impossible! Even if it ultimately fails, the fact that she was able to get this off the ground is a miracle!!! Bless you Dr. Eleni!

OH great, there is a call in. I'm definitely calling in. I'm curious to hear her impressions of the future for our country, and how others can help improve things back home.

I really can't wait to see this documentary. It is always so fascinating for me to see what great minds can do when they are put to work. You go Dr. Elein!!!!!! I can only imagine the amount of work they had to put together.
I am so proud!
