Rafik Jamal Wasswa, better known to his fans as Jamal, started singing in the early 2000s at Karaoke pubs. But it was in 2010 that he finally burst out as an artist - and a real one at that. Since then, he has only churned out hit single after single.

Jamal on AddisTunes

So what’s all the excitement about?  The answer: his simplicity, his touching lyrics inspired by day-to-day life, and his strong vocal abilities have all endeared him to music fans – especially the ladies in the audience.

Check out Jamal’s latest song that continues to go strong in the taxis - Anavaawa, where Jamal simply expresses his yearning for that special someone in this commercialized world...a world that has changed from the one “that our forefathers lived in”.

The listener couldn’t have loved it any more.
