DEBUT EP from the Soul of Sudan - Alsarah and the Nubatones

Introducing the world to great music is what we live for…and today is one of the days that we dream of...real music by real musicians!!!

O.k, so what do you get when you put together an Armenian Oud player, an Egyptian percussionist, an avant-performance artiste (yes, with the “e”), a multi-talented guitarist, and a Sudanese soul siren?

Do you give up?  O.k…it’s Alsarah & the Nubatones!

That’s right ladies and gentlemen, Alsarah & the Nubatones are here to deliver their raw, unadulterated, ultra-funky and (insert whatever other really cool adjective you can think of) blend of Sudanese soul and Nubian ‘songs of return’ from the 1970s.

We are making our prediction right here…today…remember where you heard it first…they are going to be HUGE!  And just in case you have any doubt, just check out these penetrating lyrics from Fugu (Shams Alhurria), which means “Wake up (Freedom's Sun)”:

“the time has come, the object has taken charge of his destiny
fear has demolished the people, delusions are everlasting and dreams forever lost
jobs are for those with connections, while the youth loiter counting their degrees
from the Congo to Somalia Africa sleeps while its children are martyred
Wake up, rise up, freedom sun is the dawn inside you”

But don't just listen...show your love and download these killer tracks!  Get ready world!  Here is the debut EP from Alsarah & the Nubatones!
